How You can Support the Work of the
Manship School of Mass Communication

Without the help of generous support from alumni and friends, the Manship School and its affiliated Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs could not support the programs, facilities, research and faculty that make it a national leader.

The school’s programs embrace journalism, public relations, advertising and political communication. Its teaching, research, and public service aim to promote economic and political democracy by improving the quality of information that reaches the public.

Our undergraduates are consistently singled out for their leadership abilities and go on to use those skills in the media industries as well as law, business, and public service.

Our doctoral program is the only one in the country focused exclusively on mass communication and public affairs. Campaign & Elections magazine describes this program as “unique in its ability to turn out professionals and scholars at the highest level.”

The Reilly Center harnesses the intellectual muscle of the school to convene symposia, publish books, and recruit senior fellows who seek ways to elevate political discourse. Through the Public Policy Research Lab, the school produces public opinion analysis that includes annual surveys on progress in Louisiana.

Opportunities to Give
The Forever LSU capital campaign is off to a solid start for the Manship School, thanks to a generous lead gift from Kevin Reilly, Sr., and Dee Dee Reilly, through the  Reilly Family Foundation. Their gift will fund a double endowed chair in media literacy. The chair is named after Dee Dee Reilly's brother, Wendell Gray Switzer, Jr., Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, who lost his life while on active duty. The Pennington Foundation also made a significant gift to fund two additional segments of the Louisiana Survey to measure perceptions of Louisiana.

You can be part of the exciting Forever LSU campaign. Contact Sara Courtney at 225-578-2336 or by email to learn more about the Manship School Excellence Fund Drive, endowments and other giving opportunities.

The drive lasts from July 1 to June 30 of each year.
