| BATON ROUGE – Yunan Yuan, a student in LSU Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences Professor Ye-Sho Chen’s Entrepreneurship in China class, presented research regarding Google’s censorship of information in China during the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference at Harvard University on Friday, Feb. 20. An undergraduate senior majoring in computer engineering, Yuan became interested in Google’s practices when taking American Constitutionalism, a course offered by the LSU Honors College. She conducted extensive research and eventually wrote a paper exploring the Internet’s effect on the cultural conflict between America and China. Because of her research, Yuan was selected to present among a highly selective pool of international applicants by Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference. Further, she was chosen to present her paper. Paper selections are made among postgraduate-level or graduate-level papers and only exceptional undergraduate students are chosen. “The things I learned from Professor Chen’s Entrepreneurship in China class added a new dimension to my research,” Yuan said. “Coming from China to Baton Rouge when I was 16, I have always been fascinated with U.S.-China relations. I am very grateful for the LSU Honors College and the E. J. Ourso College of Business for the exposure and limitless opportunities.” Yuan’s presentation can be viewed online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9eM3FMp08Y. For information about the E. J.
