05/26/2009 12:35 PM
BATON ROUGE – LSU Continuing Education will offer summer academic enrichment programs for pre-college students in grades 7-12. The programs are designed to help students remain active and engaged in learning during the summer break.

This year’s pre-college summer programs offer a variety of camps, courses and activities for students. Programs will be offered in two sessions, June 8-19, and July 6-17.

LSU Continuing Education’s 2009 Summer Pre-College Programs include:
  • Two-week mini-courses that will provide helpful reviews or previews of critical middle and high school subjects. Students can take one 90-minute course, or several to build a half-day or whole-day program.
  • Math, science and language arts courses for students entering eighth grade. Study skills and the LEAP prep series courses are also offered.
  • Academic review and enrichment courses for grades 9-12 designed to go beyond the standard high school curriculum.
  • Two-week Advanced Placement camp for students interested in taking AP European History or AP American History.
  • Half-day and full-day science, technology and creative arts camps are offered. These special interest camp topics include game design, lego robotics, forensic science and cartoon drawing.

Unless otherwise noted, courses for 7-12 grade students are held Monday through Friday on the LSU campus. Grades are not awarded for these courses.

LSU Continuing Education also offers youth programs for K-6th grade students. Course descriptions, dates and times can be found in the course catalog online or call 225-578-2500 for more information.
