BATON ROUGE – LSU Executive Education will conduct an advanced executive education program titled “Achieving Excellence through Innovation, Strategic Choice, and Culture Management” from Sept. 28-Oct. 2. The five-day workshop is designed for leaders responsible for strategic development and implementation in their organizations.

According to LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler, there are multiple objectives for and benefits to be gained from the event.

“This will enhance leaders’ capacity for strategic thinking,” Kistler said. “Over the course of the five days this program will run, various facilitators will offer their acumen on a variety of topics, all designed to apply strategic thinking and planning to create innovative solutions in any work environment.”

Scheduled to appear as part of the workshop are:
  • Luke Cashen – Executive MBA director and assistant professor of management in the Nicholls State University College of Business;
  • Courtland Chaney – licensed industrial-organizational psychologist, senior professional in human resources, instructor in the LSU Rucks Department of Management;
  • Aliki Nicolaides – postdoctoral research fellow at Columbia University Law School’s Center for Institutional and Social Change;
  • H. R. Penton – founder and president of Innovation Insights;
  • Lyle Yorks – strategy development and strategic learning instructor in the Department of Organization and Leadership at Columbia University, Teachers College.

“The workshop’s facilitators possess a wide array of experiences culled from years of practical work and research,” Kistler said. “In addition to other topics, they are experts in overcoming organizational barriers, forming action plans, developing behavioral expectations and norms to support competitive advantages and understanding how to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.”

To be guaranteed a spot for the workshop, those wishing to attend must register before Aug. 28. Registrations received on or after that date will be on a space-available basis. The registration fee for the program is $5,500 and includes tuition, room, most meals, books and study materials. Those not needing overnight accommodations will have their registration fee reduced to $5,000. Additionally, if two or more participants register from the same company or organization, the fee per participant will be reduced an additional $500.
