| BATON ROUGE – LSU Executive Education and LSU Continuing Education will host “What is Blue Ocean Strategy and How to Make it Work for You.” The event will take place Oct. 15, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in room 1240 of Pleasant Hall on the campus of LSU. According to LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler, the workshop will explain what the Blue Ocean strategy is and describe how to make it work for organizations, regardless of their size. “Blue Ocean will help you identify uncontested market space for your products, services or business model and make the competition irrelevant,” Kistler said. “These are proven, effective tools that have worked in a variety of businesses, both for-profit and non-profit and government agencies.” The workshop will be facilitated by H. R. “Pent” Penton, president of Innovation Insights L.L.C. Penton participated in the development of the tools and concepts to make Blue Ocean work for his company. Additionally, he is a member of LSU Executive Education’s faculty. “Pent has facilitated Blue Ocean Strategy workshops before,” Kistler said. “People who have attended the events he has directed have lauded them as ‘eye-opening experiences’ that are ‘fast-paced’ and provide ‘lots of excitement and fun,’ in addition to the invaluable knowledge.” Registration is available online at www.executive.lsu.edu. The cost of the workshop is $350 per person, which includes instruction, materials and refreshments. LSU’s Executive Education program provides business acumen and leadership development training to professionals through short courses and workshops. The Executive Education program is housed within the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, whose mission is to promote and foster entrepreneurial practices through education, outreach and research.
