Planning Timeline 2003
March 17
Department heads should be prepared to discuss the basic components of their long-range planning agenda (2004-2010) with the dean (academic departments) or vice chancellor (administrative units).

- first year (2004-2005) plan (including goals and objectives)
March 17- May 1
Vice chancellors and deans work with department heads to finalize plan and develop college or division master plan. Once finalized with dean or vice chancellor, departmental plans will include:
- measurable, time-bound performance indicators tied to goals/objectives
- information technology needs to support goals and objectives
- student learning outcomes and performance indicators for each curriculum
- resources needed to meet goals (human, financial, facilities, equipment, etc.)
May 1
Vice chancellors and deans will have
- completed reviews of departmental plans and incorporated elements into the master college plan;
- communicated the draft college plan and priorities to department chairs and faculty for feedback, and,
- submitted the draft college master plan (including long-range plans and college's first year priorities) to the Office of Academic Affairs.
May 15
- All units will submit reports on performance indicators stated in their 2002-2003 plans.
May 1 - June 15
- Provost meets with vice chancellors and deans to review and discuss their draft master plans.
June 15
- Vice chancellors and deans submit final version of college master plan to Provost.
June 30
- Finalized division, college, and department plans will be posted to the Internet.
