University Planning Council > Purpose
The University Planning Council is charged with the responsibility of defining the mission, strategic goals, and direction of the University; and with developing the overall university planning and assessment process.
The planning process aims to produce real and positive change. Strategic directions are set; benchmarks are developed for evaluating progress in pursuing those directions, and assessment mechanisms are in place which allow LSU to monitor its progress and to explain to others - - including the taxpayers of Louisiana, the Legislature, and the Governor - - how the University is performing in relation to its vision, mission, goals, directions, and priorities. |
