The Bengal Raider reunion I attended Saturday, 15 May, here in Baton Rouge was a truly moving experience. The camaraderie shown between the young and old Raiders was teriffic. Proud to have been a Raider back in 65-67 when Captain Charles Hansard was our advisor. I dedicated my first book, 'Don's Nam', to him. You can 'look inside the book' free at amazon.com or visit 'Don's Nam', website. |

I graduated from LSU ROTC in 1981. My favorite memories are of the Bengal Raider FTX’s in Bayou Sara. While on active duty, I served as a rifle platoon leader and XO in Germany. After a couple of staff assignments I had a 10-year break in service. Since joining Civil Affairs I’ve deployed to seven counties in South and Central America. Besides being a CO I am also the Deputy Team Chief for Central America in USSOUTHCOM’s Civil-Military Relations Symposia program. |

Currently a full time graduate student working for the Army Materiel Command as a civilian.
Bengal Raider 1986-1992
Update: I am currently deployed in support of OIF III to Baghdad with the 3-7 Cavalry as a Troop Fire Support Officer. Fire Support Officer these days means functioning as the "Effects Based Operations Coordinator" meaning CMO and Information Operations as well. I am basically the Troop-level Intel and Civil Affairs Officer with an occasional Fire Support role. We've been here since late January and are looking forward to redeployment in two months. GARRYOWEN!
I graduated from LSU in 1981 and retired from the Army in 2005. My last three assignments were at DIA in Washington, as the US Defense Attache in the US Embassy in Uruguay and as the US Army Instructor at the Brazilian Army War College and CGSC. I have started a second career running an "OBC" for DIA. Anyone interested in a career at DIA should drop me an e-mail. |
