Research & Workshops > Baton Rouge Social Surveys > BR area survey methodological note
The Baton Rouge area survey is a random-digit-dial telephone survey of the general population of the Baton Rouge metropolitan area, aged 18 and over. It is designed and carried out every year in March and April by undergraduates in Sociological Methods (SOCL 2211). It usually contains about 400 completed interviews. The class purchases a list of Baton Rouge-area telephone numbers from a national sampling firm, and each student completes at least twelve interviews. The instrument is a structured questionnaire. Questions are replicated from previous surveys or introduced anew. |
