Welcome to the Academic & Professional Employment website! Our mission is to serve our customers with excellence by providing the guidance, support and resources that are needed to recruit and retain the highly qualified and diverse employees of LSU. The Academic & Professional Employment section of HRM is responsible for a variety of programs such as reviewing position advertisements, waiver of advertisement requests, and appointments and personnel action forms for adherence to University policies and procedures. Each Fall and Spring semester, we oversee the promotion/tenure review and sabbatical leave processes. We assist in showing LSU employees our appreciation for their dedication and hard work through the Annual Employee Recognition Program and Quarterly Service Award Certificate Program.

The Office of Human Resource Management has taken a number of steps to provide support to employees whose positions may have been impacted by budget reductions and/or program closures. These steps include offering valuable information as those employees seek to transition to alternative employment. A Transitional Services Team has been created that can assist with various resources that are available on and off campus. Resources include career transition opportunities, job search tools, and information on leave accrual, benefits, and others.
