Louisiana Scholastic Journalism Institute brings high school students and advisers involved in student media to the Manship School for a week-long workshop June 8-13, 2008.

The Scripps-Howard Leadership Academy gives up-and-coming administrators the chance to learn from professionals and veteran administrators. Learn more about the program June 1-5 at the Manship School.

Four Manship alumni inducted into the Manship School's 2008 Hall of Fame: Brett Blackledge, John Spain, John LaPlante (posthumous) and Mike Dunne (posthumous).

"From Pigeons to News Portals," edited by John Maxwell Hamilton and David D. Perlmutter, examines foreign reporting and new technology.

John Maxwell Hamilton and Jaci Cole co-edited "Journalism of the Highest Realm," recently published by LSU Press.

"The Media and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita: Lost and Found"  by Dr. Judith Sylvester will be out in April 2008.

Bob Mann's new book "When Freedom Would Triumph: The Civil Rights Struggle in Congress, 1945-1968" is available from LSU Press.

Public Policy Research Lab's Louisiana Survey results available online; survey provides insight into perceptions about recovery process, crime, quality of life. Get more information and access the report.

"Electronic Media: Chronicles and Challenges", authored by Professor Louis Day and three co-authors, was published by Blackwell Publishers in January 2007.

Dr. Margaret DeFleur’s book, "Fundamentals of Human Communication: Social Science in Everyday Life", has been translated into Spanish as "Fundamentos de Communicacion Humana."
