| Your Student Tech Fee at work! For students using the new PAWS mail, we've upgraded your current 50 MB account to allow up to 1 GB (1000 MB) of storage -- FREE! Plus, your email messages can now be up to 25MB. This will give you the freedom to attach larger files, documents, whatever you want.
Also, you now have free IMAP and POP access, allowing you to use email programs like Outlook Express, Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and many others! If you'd like to use the new IMAP or POP features, on your PAWS desktop, go to Personal Preferences->LSU Email->POP/IMAP Settings. If you're a current student and still using the old PAWS mail, now's the time to upgrade! Use the link on your PAWS desktop. And don't miss a special on-campus promotion by Microsoft of their newest product -- OneNote -- TODAY, October 27, 2005, from 10am-4pm outside the LSU Union. | TigerWare continues to grow, and now you can get computer-based training FOR FREE from the site! Just click the ‘training’ link and see the wealth of training modules available now! ITS has enhanced TigerWare with the addition of Microsoft’s eLearning Library of courses that provide the basics for how to use the products available under LSU’s Campus License Agreement. You can download the course modules onto your personal computer and get basic and advanced training at a pace you set, in the setting you find most conducive to learning. Back to top |

| Everyone gets spam or junk e-mail and the problem is growing. Here at LSU, we currently block more than 75,000 spam messages to PAWS users each day. These numbers should improve as we continue to implement better spam controls. | Norton Anti-Virus is now available for download to all current students and can be accessed from their PAWS account. The latest version of Norton Anti-Virus is available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems (including Win 2000 pro, XP, and Mac OS X). This software may be installed only one personal computer.
Note: This version of Norton Anti-Virus will solve problems reported with Norton real-time and Windows XP. Back to top |
