Need to Network?
Need to Network?
Tiger Network is a free, online mentoring system that connects LSU students with alumni and friends of LSU and other LSU students who have completed work experiences (internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, summer jobs or volunteer experiences). Students contact mentors for advice about career fields and industries, regions, employment and graduate and professional school, etc.
Tiger Network: Information for Professionals Who Want to Mentor Students
Tiger Network: Information for Students Who Want to Mentor Other Students
Students and alumni who use Tiger Network will view selected information from your profile, including occupation, name of company, location, and area of advice.
For your privacy, we will list your first name only. When your peers search the system, then, they will see you as (First Name) STUDENTmentor. Your contact information (address, e-mail, or phone, per your indicated preference) will only be disclosed to a limited number of students/alumni through the online system. After the release limit on your profile as been reached, you will be contacted by LSU Career Services to give you the option of continuing to have your contact information released to Tiger Network users.
As a mentor, you will determine your level of involvement, which may range from responding to occasional e-mails to allowing a student to meet with you to ask questions face-to-face. You will also determine the number of students who may contact you in a given semester, ensuring that your service as a mentor never becomes a burden.
Career Services will keep a record of to whom your information has been released through the Tiger Network system and requests that you report any abuse by students/alumni to our office.
- I want to register as a Tiger Network mentor to share information about my work experience(s) with other students. IMPORTANT! Your mentor profile will be separate from your general Careers2Geaux profile (if you have one).
