The Career Expo allows employers and graduate/professional school recruiters to visit with students in an informal setting. Approximately 2,000 students and alumni from all fields of study will be eager to develop a general understanding of company and school cultures and and gather specifics about employment and curricula. Employers will be grouped in (self-selected) zones, with a special zone just for graduate and professional schools. You will be able to select your zone during registration; the seven zones are Business, Engineering, Government, Multidisciplinary, Science & Technology, STAR Employers and Graduate/Professional Schools. The Graduate/Professional Schools zone will be subdivided by type of program.
The Expo is an opportunity for you to:
- Establish a presence at LSU — Visit with students and alumni about the opportunities your organization offers, and spread the word about your achievements and organizational culture.
- Gather résumés — Many of the student and alumni participants will be looking for full-time or temporary positions, and they will bring résumés to share. Review them at your own convenience, and contact the ones that pique your interest.
- Prepare for On-Campus Interviewing — If you will participate in the On-Campus Interviewing Program, the Expo is a terrific way to meet some of the students you may interview this fall. Get to know them in a laid-back setting first.
- Network with potential employees — Some attendees will be looking for information, not jobs. They want to learn about occupations and companies to explore the breadth of opportunities available to them. Meet ambitious students who will enter the job market in the near future.
