In the first phase of CxC at LSU, the faculty will begin certifying students who have demonstrated exemplary levels of communication skills during their undergraduate years. Students who are interested in having such a certification added to their credentials should begin planning as soon as possible.

Requirements ratified by the CxC Council during Spring 2005:
  • Communication-Intensive courses (4) with emphases on written, oral, visual, and technological communication
  • a Digital Portfolio showcasing your communication skills, with evidence approved by your CxC Advisors (e.g., papers, speeches, graphics, videos, etc. from both your early and later years of study)
  • Internship, co-op, service-learning, research, or study abroad experience, with a strong communication component
  • Leadership on campus or in the community
  • a GPA of 3.5 in C-I, writing, and speaking courses
