The Student Advisory Council, a registered LSU student organization, is comprised of students who have actively participated in service-learning courses and understand service-learning principles.

Service Event Coordinator: Andrea Whiting
Public Relations: Melinda Hunter

Meetings are held once monthly and activities include planning service projects and events, promoting service-learning through classroom visits and conference presentations, and working with LSU’s Student Government to link the various service organizations on campus with the service-learning program. The Council participates in a year-long commitment with Volunteers in Public Schools and partners with a reading friend at a local elementary school.

The requirements for eligibility are simple. Students:

must have taken or be enrolled in a service-learning course
must be full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing with the university
must want to be involved with their LSU and off-campus community
must complete the application and return to ccell@lsu.edu or bring by B-29 Coates Hall
