Participation in KLSU is open to any full-time student in good standing with a 2.0 GPA. KLSU does not require that a student be a Mass Communication major.
What’s in it for you as a staff member of KLSU?
- KLSU’s playlist appears every week in the College Music Journal magazine; maybe you can become the reporter!
- KLSU staff members are contributing writers to a number of music publications, and appear as entertainment reporters on TV programs- you could be next!
- KLSU has been named by the Princeton Review as one of America’s Top 5 College Radio Stations.
- KLSU staffers regularly have backstage access to interview major and emerging alternative, jazz, hip-hip and other artists at such events as JazzFest and VooDoo Fest- sound like something you’d like to do?
- In 2001, 2002, and 2003, KLSU DJs anchored segments of the Worldwide Cybercast of the Collegiate Broadcasters Inc. from the floor of the National College Media Convention- maybe next year, it will be you!
- KLSU is currently working toward establishing an internet stream of its programming- you could be the one to push the button signing us on!
But KLSU isn’t just music. It’s also news and sports. KLSU sports reporters have recently traveled around the country covering LSU, Saints and Hornets games. In Spring 2004, KLSU Sports began play-by-play coverage of some LSU home sports events.
There’s a job at KLSU for almost any student, whether they want to be on the air or behind the scenes. Several positions require…
- Good writing or computer skills, like database and website management; or
