 | NOTE: THE PAY PARKING LOT BEHIND THE UNION THEATER IS CLOSED AND WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL THE UNION RENOVATIONS ARE COMPLETED IN 2009. TOWER DRIVE WILL REMAIN OPEN AND THE GATED PARKING LOTS AT COATS & NICHOLSON WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER 4:30 PM AND WEEKENDS. OTHER AVAILABLE LOTS NEAR THE UNION ARE THE FACULTY CLUB LOT AND THE OLD ALUMNI BUILDING LOT LOCATED ACROSS HIGHLAND ROAD FROM THE UNION, THE LIFE SCIENCES GATED LOT JUST SOUTH OF THE UNION ON SOUTH CAMPUS DRIVE AND THE GATED GEOLOGY LOT ON SOUTH CAMPUS JUST WEST OF TOWER DRIVE OPEN AT 4:30 PM AND WEEKENDS.
ENTRANCES TO THE UNION THEATER DURING RENOVATIONS
Audience Entrance: Persons with tickets in hand that do not require an elevator to go up one story should enter the theater at the glass lobby located at street level just off Tower Drive at "FREE SPEECH ALLEY". If you need to pick up tickets, enter the MAIN Union building entrance, go to the right at the Information Center and proceed past the Feliciana Room to the end of the lobby. A temporary Box Office station will be set up near the old box office loacation.
Passenger Elevator: The passenger elevator is located near the rear main staircase at the South end of the Union building. The gated parking lot will be closed beginning Oct. 14, 2006 and remain closed until the renovations are completed in 2009. Access to the Elevator for walkers or wheelchairs will only be as described below.
From Highland Road or Tower Drive (the parade ground), you should go down the ramped walkways leading to the ground floor at the front of the Union Building and enter the glass lobby between the bookstore and the Post Office. . Go straight back and follow the sings to the elevator.
Exit Ramp: The Union Theater has an exit ramp which is located through the doors located on the west side of the auditorium between the orchestra and mezzanine seating sections. These doors lead directly down a ramp to Tower Drive just opposite the parking lot which is between Coates and Nicholson Hall. house Attendants will open these doors for wheelchairs or people using walkers when asked to do so. Please tell the ticket taker at the lower glass lobby that you need assistance t the ramp doors and he will radio the hous attendant at that station who will open the door for you.
