 | Focus Areas
Volunteer LSU works by focusing most of its time and energy into 5 areas. These are not the only areas of service that we work with, but they are the 5 areas of service that we found were the most needed on campus and in our community.
Below is a list of our focus areas and a brief description of each. Click on the name of each group to go to that group’s webpage and see its student leader(s), past projects, and projects planned for the future.
Our 5 Focus Areas:
Baton Rouge Restoration & Beautification – This group’s purpose is to reach into the Baton Rouge community, particularly in restoration and clean up projects.
Civic & Social Awareness– This group focuses on social issues in the LSU, Baton Rouge, and regional areas.
Disaster Relief & Emergency Preparedness – This group deals with organizing volunteers for emergency situations, bringing guest speakers to teach about relief in such situations, and teaching students how to be prepared for disaster situations.
Health & Wellness Outreach – This group works to help others improve their lives through better health.
Youth Programs – The main goal of this group is to educate and mentor youth in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. |
