WHAT
A symposium to promote undergraduate research at LSU, Louisiana universities and the surrounding area. Agenda includes an Oral & Poster Presentation Competition, Keynote Speaker, Panel discussion and Networking & Information Fair.
Awards for competition will be given in the following categories:
Life Sciences
Physical Sciences
Engineering
Math & Computational Sciences
WHO
The Oral & Poster Competition is open to Undergraduate Students who currently conduct research in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) disciplines at universities and community colleges in Louisiana and the surrounding area.
General audience attendees (faculty, post docs, graduate students, undergraduate students, high school teachers and students, parents) are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Registration is $10 (covers lunch & refreshments) and is required for all participants. Please complete and hand deliver or mail in the Registration Form below with payment.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCHER ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstract submission for Oral or Poster Presentation is due Monday, September 21, 2009, 11:59 pm.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Students submitting an abstract will need to complete the Abstract Submission and have their faculty mentor submit a Faculty Recommendation form. Below is the Abstract Packet which includes the Abstract Submission form, Faculty Mentor Recommendation form, Registration form and Guidelines for submitting an abstract. Please submit abstracts via email to ex3symposium@lsu.edu or fax to: 225.578.7231.

Parking
Free parking is available at the AG Coliseum lot at the corner of Highland and S. Stadium Road. Our department will reserve a limited number of parking spaces near the LSU Student Union. These spaces will be available on a requested basis and the cost is $1/hour, payable at the parking meter.
Lunch and Refreshments
Lunch is included with the registration fee and will be a boxed lunch with sandwich/chips or salad, drink and dessert. Light refreshments will be served throughout the day.
Networking & Information Fair Participants
The Networking & Information Fair will be held during lunch from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the LSU Cotillion Ballroom. Click here for information packet with room layout and set-up information.
