TigerBytes delivers a basic capability for students, faculty, and staff to store computer files in a private folder which can be accessed from PAWS or Windows-based computers in LSU's public computer labs. This file space will give individuals the ability to work where and when they have the opportunity, save their work, and then continue later at a different location on campus.
Some of the capabilities of the system are,
- The ability to store up to 50mb of data.
- Accessible from LSU's public computer labs.
- No filtering of filetypes. Any type of file can be saved within the 50mb quota as long as it does not adversely affect the system.
- Persistant between semesters for continuously registered students.
- Web interface accessible through PAWS.
A number of features and capabilities are being planned or investigated for the future. Some of these capabilities are,
- The ability to publish web pages from within your space.
- The ability to allow other users access to your space.
- Storage space for class groups.
