| BATON ROUGE – Students will have the opportunity to take classes during the summer break thanks to LSU Intersession. LSU Continuing Education’s Extended Learning Office will host another year of Summer Intersession beginning Aug. 3, which is open to currently enrolled students. Summer Intersession is a condensed academic term that will be offered between the summer term and fall semester. Courses will be offered from Aug. 3 through Aug. 14; final exams will be administered Aug. 15. There are 11 class days in Summer Intersession plus final exams. Each three-hour lecture class will include two 10-minute breaks. Students may schedule four credit hours in Summer Intersession and may schedule up to six hours with special approval from their dean’s office. “LSU’s Summer Intersession is a great opportunity for students to get a head start on their credits before the regular school session begins,” said Lynn Evans, program manager of Intersession. “Students can take courses during Summer Intersession that are normally difficult to schedule or overcrowded in the fall.” Students schedule and register as for any other semester using PAWS. Scheduling instructions, timelines and course offerings are available in the schedule booklet on the University Registrar Web site. Courses can also be found on the PAWS Web site and at the Summer Intersession Courses link below. At present, more than 57 sections of courses are available to students. A list of these courses can be found on the PAWS Web page, www.paws.lsu.edu, or by visiting LSU’s Office of the University Registrar Web page, www.lsu.edu/registrar. For more information, contact the LSU Extended Learning/Intersession Office at intersession@lsu.edu or call 225-578-5090. - 30 - |
