| On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the LSU Construction Industry Advisory Council held a dedication ceremony for the new Construction Management Building at LSU. The building is the result of a $500,000 renovation project that turned an unused building known as the "CEBA Boiler Building," located just north of the CEBA Building, into 3,800 square feet of office and classroom space that will be used by the Department of Construction Management. LSU System President William Jenkins, Chancellor Mark Emmert and Dean Pius Egbelu of the College of Engineering were on hand for the ceremony. The LSU Construction Industry Advisory Council acknowledged the donors who helped complete the renovations of the building during the fall 2003 semester. Donors provided services and funds for a new classroom, five offices, a conference room and restrooms. LSU Construction Industry Advisory Council is a volunteer support organization formed to support LSU and the LSU Construction Management program; meet the needs of the construction industry by providing graduates who are well-prepared to tackle today's challenges; and build and maintain a solid membership base to establish operating funds for both the CIAC and the Construction Management Department. As of the fall 2003 semester, LSU's Construction Management Department was the second largest in the country.
